The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) just released new guidelines (Version
1.2023) for the treatment of ovarian cancer, which include Elahere (IMGN drug) as a preferred regimen. This comes as a particular surprise to the upside,
since it occurred faster than our (and likely the Street’s) expectations. It is our view that
the NCCN listing as a preferred regimen will boost physician uptake of Elahere, given that
NCCN continues to be one of the most reliable guidelines among oncologists.
(with category 2A evidence, indicating that there is majority consensus of at least 85%
from the NCCN panel that the regimen is appropriate, based on lower-level evidence, likely
due to the single-arm nature of the Phase III SORAYA study) for patients with platinum-
resistant disease who have folate-receptor alpha (FRα)-positive tumors. The guidelines also
recommend Elahere as a category 2B regimen (which requires a NCCN panel consensus of at
least 50%, but less than 85%, based on lower-level evidence) in combination with Avastin for
certain circumstances in the platinum-resistant setting.
