Major production studios and streaming companies reached a tentative deal with the Writers Guild of America on Sunday, and a vote is expected on Tuesday to ratify the contract which would end the writers’ strike.
Though the writers’ strike is nearing its end, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike continues with no known negotiations scheduled.
Walt Disney Company and other major studios have faced a complete shut-down in production of new content and huge losses in profit since the writer’s strike began in May.
Disney shares have declined by more than 8% over the last three months and are down over 18% over the last year.
