Advanced Micro Devices, Inc (NASDAQ:AMD) shares are trading lower Thursday in sympathy with contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd (NYSE:TSM).

TSMC assured customers wary of price hikes fueled by the Ukraine war about its efforts to contain hikes.

CEO C.C. Wei, at the company’s annual technology event, blamed the war for driving up the price of neon gas and leading to the production halt of two Ukrainian suppliers, accounting for half the world’s supply of semiconductor-grade neon.

NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA) shares are also down today.

Price Action: AMD shares traded lower by 0.23% at $96.79 on the last check Thursday.
