Fox News announced its new prime-time show lineup on Monday, featuring Jesse Watters in Tucker Carlson’s former 8 p.m. ET timeslot.

Carlson and Fox News parted ways in April after the network dismissed him.

Watters will have big shoes to fill as Carlson’s show on Fox, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” was the most-watched cable news broadcast in the country. Walters has been a co-host of the Fox show, “The Five,” since 2017. Watters has also hosted his own show, “Jesse Watters Primetime,” which airs at 7 p.m. ET, since early 2022.

Who Is Jesse Watters? Watters grew up in the Philadelphia area and came from a family experienced in media. His grandfather, Morton Bailey, was the publisher of The Saturday Evening Post. Additionally, his mother was a publisher for Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

Watters attended Trinity College, and got a job working as a production assistant for “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News in his early 20s. Watters has climbed up the ranks at Fox since then and now is taking over the network’s most-watched time slot.

Where’s Tucker? Tucker announced in early May he would be bringing a new show to Twitter. Carlson has posted six episodes of “Tucker on Twitter” since then, with each episode receiving more than 15 million views on Twitter.

Price Action: Fox Corp Class A (NASDAQ:FOXA) traded higher Monday, closing up 1.74% at $33.24 a share. The stock is relatively flat since the company dismissed Carlson, and is trading up more than 5% in the last month.
