Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) China is reportedly preparing for the launch of the Model 3 Project Highland, reports Teslarati.

Tesla China is setting the stage for the first deliveries of the revamped Model 3, potentially as early as September. To attract customers, Tesla is offering an RMB 8,000 ($1098.63) insurance subsidy on Model 3 inventory vehicles and increased insurance incentives for the all-electric sedan.

The report also mentioned that Tesla is encouraging customers to pay RMB 1,000 (around $137) for a Model 3 reservation. These customers have the option to take delivery of a current generation Tesla Model 3 with all the current incentives or wait for a Model 3 Project Highland unit.

Customers waiting for a Project Highland unit can purchase it at the current price of the vehicle through reservation, even if the new Model 3 is launched at a higher price. The updated Model 3 is expected to feature a revamped exterior and a new infotainment system.
