Oil giant Shell PLC (NYSE:SHEL) has reportedly opened its largest electric vehicle (EV) charging station globally in Shenzhen, China.
The station is located abutting the Shenzhen airport and has 258 charging points and solar panels, according to a report from Reuters.
The solar panels in the station will have an annual generation capacity of 300,000 kilowatt-hours.

The EV station will be operated as a joint venture between Shell and Chinese EV major BYD Company (OTC:BYDDY).
Shell operates about 800 EV charging stations as joint ventures or as wholly-owned subsidiaries throughout China.

Price Action: SHEL shares are trading higher by 0.25% at $65.39 in premarket on the last check Tuesday.
