Japan’s Rakuten Group (OTC:RKUNY) has inked a memorandum of understanding with OpenAI to delve into joint business prospects. Reuters reports.

The collaboration will focus on integrating OpenAI applications into Rakuten’s offerings, according to the newswire.

Sam Altman-led OpenAI has risen in popularity following the launch of its artificial general intelligence (AGI) app chatGPT, which is available on the web, iPhones and Android devices in select countries.

Beside chatGPT, OpenAI has several offerings including APIs of GPT-4 and other AGI models. The company also has a speech-to-text transcription service called Whisper and an AI-based image generation service called Dall.E-2.
