Sony Group Corp‘s (NYSE:SONY) State of Play broadcast on Sept. 14 showcased new gameplay footage from “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive developed by Insomniac Games.
This game is the direct sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and the third installment in the series, including 2020’s “Spider-Man: Miles Morales.”

In the gameplay trailer, viewers were introduced to the game’s updated progression system, allowing players to switch between Miles Morales and Peter Parker almost instantly thanks to the PS5’s SSD.
“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” will feature over 65 different suits for the characters, offering more than 200 ways to customize their appearance, drawing inspiration from Spider-Man’s various looks in comics, movies, TV shows, and more.
The gameplay footage reaffirmed the series’ signature elements, such as web-swinging through a realistically congested New York City and battling numerous enemies.
“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” will be released exclusively for the PS5 on Oct. 20, offering an exciting continuation of the beloved superhero saga.
