In 2021, Instagram rolled out the feature to add personal pronouns for users who want them to be applied in a conversation on the platform.

Users need to tap on their profile photo in the bottom right corner to avail of the feature. Then tap the ‘Edit Profile’ option and finally click on ‘Pronouns.’

At present, the feature isn’t available to everyone.

Mosseri added that in 2023, the platform would primarily focus on inspiring users to be creative, helping them discover things they love and spark connections between people.
