- Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F) plans to produce 500,000 electric vehicles a year at its BlueOval City campus under construction in west Tennessee.
- The electric vehicle and battery manufacturing campus is expected to begin production in 2025 and will be home to Ford’s second-generation electric truck, code named Project T3.
- Ford’s Project T3 aims to further grow and reinvent the Ford truck franchise.
- Ford and partner SK On are investing $5.6 billion in the campus and creating approximately 6,000 new jobs.
- BlueOval City is designed to be Ford’s first carbon neutral vehicle manufacturing and battery campus.
- “BlueOval City is the blueprint for Ford’s electric future around the world,” said executive chair Bill Ford.
- “We will build revolutionary electric vehicles at an advanced manufacturing site that works in harmony with the planet, aligning business growth and innovation with environmental progress.”
- Price Action: F shares are trading lower by 1.23% at $11.28 in premarket on the last check Friday.
