Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), the most valued cryptocurrency in the world, traded lower this morning, falling below the key $17,000 level on Wednesday.

Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) also recorded losses, but traded above the $1,200 level.

GMX (CRYPTO: GMX) was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while ImmutableX (CRYPTO: IMX) turned out to be the biggest loser.

At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap fell to $843.64 billion, recording a 24-hour decline of 1.1%. BTC was trading lower by 0.7% at $16,850.50, while ETH fell by around 1.6% to $1,235 on Wednesday.
