Bitcoin Edges Lower Following Economic Data; Maker, Filecoin Among Top Losers

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) moved slightly lower, with the cryptocurrency prices trading below the key $25,000 level on Thursday. Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) also moved lower, trading below the $1,700 mark this morning.

US initial jobless claims dropped by 20,000 from the prior week to 192,000 in the week ending March 11, compared to market expectations of 205,000.

GMX (CRYPTO: GMX) was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Maker (CRYPTO: MKR) turned out to be the biggest loser.

At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap fell to $1.08 trillion, recording a 24-hour decline of 1.4%. BTC was trading lower by 0.2% at $24,834, while ETH fell by around 1.5% to $1,657 on Thursday.
