IBM’s AI inference platform uses NeuReality’s NR1 AI chip (manufactured on TSMC’s advanced 7nm node). AI servers using NeuReality’s solution will begin low-volume production in 4Q23, with Foxconn as the assembler.

AMD is the FPGA supplier for the NeuReality AI solution, which will benefit from the infrastructure required by IBM’s AI inference platform.

While Nvidia clearly remains the leading AI chip maker in 2024, AMD continues to work closely with platform service providers/CSPs with strong software capabilities (such as Microsoft, Amazon, etc.) and acquire software companies (such as Nod.ai). This positions AMD to potentially close the gap with Nvidia in AI starting in 2025.

This collaboration further proves that AMD is not affected by the U.S. government’s updated ban on shipping AI chips to China.
