Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) is reportedly in preliminary discussions with Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS) regarding a partnership involving the streaming version of ESPN.

Amazon may potentially acquire a minority stake in the sports network. These discussions are still ongoing, with the pricing for the new service yet to be finalized, according to a Reuters report, which cited The Information.

ESPN’s new streaming service is anticipated to cost between $20 and $35 per month, potentially making it the most expensive streaming service in the U.S.

Disney CEO Robert Iger previously stated on CNBC that Disney aims to retain ESPN while seeking strategic partners to assist in bringing the sports network directly to consumers.

At the time of writing, Amazon.com shares were trading at $131.84, while Walt Disney Co. shares were at $82.47.
