Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) shares are volatile Tuesday. The company announced the release of a new multimodal AI model for communication.
What To Know: In a new post on Facebook, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the release of the company’s new AI model, SeamlessM4T, which aims to help people who speak different languages communicate more effectively.
“M4T can do speech-to-text, text-to-speech, speech-to-speech, text-to-text translation and speech recognition for up to 100 languages,” Zuckerberg said in the post.
The Meta CEO noted that the company plans to integrate the new AI capabilities into Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Threads over time.

META Price Action: Meta shares were down 12% at $289.56 at the time of writing, according to Benzinga Pro.
